Mr. U of R
In the month of November, Sigma Delta Tau puts on its annual "Mr. U of R" male pageant. Twelve men from various organizations on campus including Greek life, sports teams, and clubs compete to win the esteemed title of Mr. U or R. The winner is chosen based on a talent segment, question-and-answer segment, holiday-themed segment, and not to mention the opening Group Dance which includes their Formal Wear. SDT raises thousands of dollars for our national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America. The current Mr. U of R is Mahlon Schaffer of the Psi Upsilon fraternity.

Mt. Hope Family Center
April is recognized in the United States as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Every year, we fundraise during a period we call Denim Days in order to raise awareness of sexual assault and domestic violence issues.
All our proceeds are donated to a local charity called the Mt. Hope Family Center, at which we also volunteer. Mt. Hope Family Center began as a therapeutic preschool program for children affected by violence in the Rochester community or their homes. Today, it combines clinical studies, scientific research and mentoring programs all into one facility. MHFC provides intervention/prevention and training services to over 900 at-risk children and families each year in the Rochester community. |
